(needs to be done before turning on the robot)
Firstly you need to install the required software called Dobot Studio from the official page (https://en.dobot.cn/service/download-center?data-id=675). IE Robotics already has computers with this software installed.
Once the software is installed when you get into the application it should look like this:

Now you are ready to connect to the Dobot. Go to the base of the Dobot, and check that the power cable is all the way in (this is a common error). Then connect the USB cable to your computer.

When everything is connected and NOT BEFORE, you can go ahead and turn-on the robot. Once it is ON, press the “Connect” button to finally connect your computer to the Dobot. To check if everything worked you can press the “Home” button which would move the arm of the Dobot around to find its starting point.
While the Dobot is ON, to move its arm you will need to press the unlock button in the front part of the robot’s arm.
Never connect or disconnect inputs or outputs to the robot while it is powered up or connected to the software. Damage to the robot will result!
